He was cold when we found him sitting in his chair.
The last bit of daylight was shiny through his hair.
I looked hard in his eyes but I couldn’t find him there.
Just a shell of a man and a chill in the air.

Had his eyes halfway open lips formed in a grin.
They say he looked like he must’ve found peace in the end.
